We all know that it is difficult for paint and remodeling contractors to find good, young, skilled help. At the same time, it can be difficult for students graduating from 2 year Building Trades programs to find employment.

Together with the schools, and our paint industry partners, we move forward in spreading paint skills around the country to move the trades toward solutions to some of its bigger problems.

Students who participate in vocational center workshop programs offered by Prep to Finish learn how to prepare for entry into paint/finish related fields with a basic understand of product, process and efficiency. Students learn about clean, efficient, safe work habits through hands on tasks using the best available gear, balancing awareness of traditional finish craftsmanship with current industry standard technologies.

After our workshops, students are encouraged to follow up with us at will by posting questions in our Vocational Education Library which will archive their workshop experience…right here on this site. Use of online interactive technologies by students researching trade based careers is a great situation for all involved.

Vocational Program Workshops include:

  • education about career opportunities in the paint trade
  • skills, knowledge and attitudes required for entry into paint industry employment
  • hands on experience in typical prep and finish tasks
  • the opportunity to integrate learning into projects they are doing in their program
  • unlimited post-workshop support online through this site
