Spotlight on Drywall Finishing

Prep to Finish launches it’s 2013 Student Workshop Series on February 21/22 in Barre, Vermont with a drywall finishing clinic custom designed for vocational students exploring the building trades. PtF trainers, Todd and Scott, have visited the Barre Technical Center a couple of times since December to track the progress on the modular home that the students have been building throughout the school year, and it is time to paint!

In this two day workshop, Todd and Scott will lead students through each aspect of preparing to finish drywall – including fine tuning the finish sanding, spraying/backrolling primer and ceiling paint, dust free power sanding between coats, and final wall coat cutting and rolling.

The focus will be on implementing safe, clean and efficient painting habits, while learning the best balance of production and quality. Particular emphasis will be placed on how to work with today’s waterborne technologies and state of the art equipment.

There will be a Q & A / review session at the conclusion of the workshop, during which students can learn from Todd and Scott about what it’s like to paint professionally.

Look for live tweets and real time coverage on the Prep to Finish Facebook Page next thursday and friday during the workshop, and we will update this website shortly thereafter.
