Kicking off the ’13 Trade Show Season, Prep to Finsh Trainers Scott and Todd flew out to St. Louis in early March for the PDCA National Expo to join PtF Full Program Sponsor, FestoolUSA, in their booth on the floor of the Expo Tradeshow .Shows like this are a pleasure for Prep to Finish to participate in, mostly because of the opportunity to connect in person with contractors from around the country and talk shop for a couple of days – and socialize
On the first day of this two day workshop series, Prep to Finish travelled to Randolph to work with the students in their own shop. This portion of the program focused specifically on taking the furniture pieces from rough construction form to fully prepped for finish. PtF Trainers Todd Pudvar and Scott Burt taught the students how to use Festool sanders, abrasives and HEPA extractors to prepare their wood surfaces for finishing.
In this drywall workshop, Todd and Scott taught the students about proper finish sanding to prepare ceilings and walls for priming. The students had previously hung, taped, skimmed and sanded all of the drywall in the house – no small challenge. Prep to Finish taught the kids how to finalize their finish skim/sand sequence through detailed surface inspections.
